Botox
Botox smooths fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing targeted facial muscles, creating a refreshed, natural appearance without looking overdone. Treatments are quick, customized, and require little to no downtime.

What is Botox?
Botox® is an FDA-approved injectable medication made from a purified form of botulinum toxin type A. When injected in small, controlled amounts, Botox temporarily relaxes targeted muscles by blocking nerve signals that cause muscle contraction. In aesthetic treatments, this muscle relaxation helps soften existing wrinkles and prevent new lines from forming, resulting in a smoother, more refreshed appearance.
Botox has been safely used in medicine for decades and is one of the most extensively studied cosmetic treatments worldwide. When administered by a trained medical provider, Botox delivers natural-looking results without changing your ability to express emotions.
What are the FDA-approved indications for Botox?
Botox is FDA-approved for both cosmetic and medical uses.
Cosmetic FDA-approved uses include:
Moderate to severe forehead lines
Frown lines (also called “11s”) between the eyebrows
Crow’s feet around the eyes
Medical FDA-approved uses include:
Chronic migraines
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of the underarms
Muscle spasticity and abnormal muscle contractions
Neck muscle spasms (cervical dystonia)
Overactive bladder
Eye muscle disorders, such as crossed eyes or eyelid spasms
In aesthetic medicine, Botox is also commonly used off-label (a safe and accepted medical practice) to address concerns such as jaw clenching or teeth grinding (TMJ), lip flips, brow lifts, and neck banding. Your provider will review all treatment options and determine what is appropriate for your individual goals.
What should I know before I go?
Botox treatments are quick and minimally invasive, typically taking 10–15 minutes. Most patients describe the injections as feeling like a small pinch. There is little to no downtime, and many patients return to normal activities the same day.
Results are not immediate — improvements gradually appear over 3 to 7 days, with full results visible at about two weeks. Botox results generally last three to four months, after which maintenance treatments are recommended to sustain results.
Before treatment, your provider will review your medical history, discuss your aesthetic goals, and evaluate facial anatomy to create a personalized plan. You may be advised to avoid certain medications or supplements that increase bruising prior to your appointment. After treatment, you will receive aftercare instructions to help optimize results and minimize side effects.
Botox is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and it may not be appropriate for individuals with certain neurological conditions. Your provider will ensure Botox is safe for you during your consultation.
